The end is near


The Lancer business trip is almost over, was doing so well with my work and the worse things happened, the hard drive i stored work on....died :(

So i looks like i may have to improvise my way out to finish this trip with a good note then fail for this small problem.

So what have i learned since the last post, well that my class is dressing down as homeless people to promote our idea to help the local community with warm clothes and packaged foods during the week and handing it over to the local salvation army on Tuesday....time to wear my suit again.

What else is there to tell... well power point work is going well 2 outta 3 done and dusted, MYOB work is wrapping up well. Environment work is still pointless with the rules and limits it "try's" to enforce like a
4 minute shower.....THAT'S JUST BULL, you can't have an effective shower in 4 mins that's wasting water anyway -_^
So how to sum up the last 15 days.....going well till today

Just another day in the office....

the trip so far.

Well boys and girls, what has happened so far on the trip, there was doing more MYOB payroll work which i think is pretty good and i'm not annoyed at numbers much ( yay ) and the course is slowy wrapping
up as the end it near.
kinda sucks really because i have learnt so much in this course like how to do MYOB work and Payrolls
or even writing business docs in a right formats, powerpoint making and blogging and being more aware of the world around me.

but one thing i have learned is that if i know that i have to spend a long time doing something that's not really that interesting i will stare blankly at the screen till i think of something to do,
which probley ain't that helpful but i will say that if you stop then shit keeps moving with or without you and you may as well keep moving because you will learn something good inthe end and be able to walk away from a trip like this and say. " I'm awesome Because i did something worthwhile"

LANCER IS BACK BABY, AND HE'S BRING IT ON!!!

New month, new term, Three weeks without a post and all i can think about is how i type stuff how
and no-one view this, hell i really think i could write what ever i feel like and get away with it.

but i'm a good person so i won't say fuck, cheeky :p

Anyway to the point, it's week......2 i'm sure and already i'm looking forward to the end of this course,
learning many new things in regards to OHS and PowerPoint, working in a team....a TEAM, what is a
team i got asked in class the other day.... well it's a group of people where we think of ideas to get a
solution about a problem.

but that was yesterday, TODAY we done some PowerPoint work, and boy does my work suck, it seems
that my work get dwarfed by the woman here because i can't make stuff look pretty but i guess that's a guy thing on how to do the work, but not make it pretty *rolls eyes*

Oh good news, i have two male teachers OMG i'm not the only guy now, and i feel soo more comfortable somehow ( not gay ) just means i can talk to someone that understands what i'm talking about. and makes the lesson go that little bit faster.

anyway, this is lancer, out..... to have lunch.

The trip so far

Well it turns out it is week 7 and only two weeks remain till the holidays


I said it yesterday about number's and how they are annoying........ Well there's NO numbers today hahaha
so here i am writing on a blog in a class that i'm meant to do number work in but no numbers no work no work no point in being in class really, but i choose to come because i missed last week's lesson :o

This shit is annoying sometimes  This numbering is annoying, sometimes are i sit here looking at Numbers
hoping that those numbers add to a number that those numbers will add to and theres a specific number that all numbers should add too after all that numbering it's just so flipping annoying with numbers *rolls eyes*

I really think that i should stop ripping on numbers for a minute and start talking about something else.........
hmm odd, what else is there to talk about......

The trip so far....

Week 6? maybe 7 I don't know but the holidays are soon

Well i think i forgot to do this last week so..... My bad.
I think i should say something to compensate for last weeks beloved blog post.
*Sighs* that pretty much is it.

Now to this weeks "news"  "updates" oh you get the point, well so far i'v learnt that
waking up at 8.00am with your eyes hurting and walking to TAFE to park in front
of a computer that's pretty close to your "firetrucking" face and you can't move it then
have to go looking through government pages to find a very small line really does play
with your head, so word of advice, Don't look at government pages.

But besides going blind looking at government pages all morning. the afternoon's are
soo "boring" "fun"  working with MYOB and then having to look at numbers, it's all
about numbers, there's too many numbers, i got to have a break away from numbers
just thinking about numbers and how numbers and starts to annoy me, it drives me crazy
to dislike numbers and government pages.

I think that numbers and government pages go hand in hand to skip through the meadow
picking flowers,laying in the grass and deciding on how to piss me off next annoy
me next and you know what the worse thing was, i couldn't even FIND what i was
looking for on those pages and with MYOB i pretty much have to start from square
"firetrucking" one or unit 8 o.O......

And that's just Tuesday's work...... well the rest of the week is pretty smooth and no
numbers of gov's i need to work on to and they are next week's problem

A side trip from the road of business

Well here i am at 7.55pm thinking about the work at hand and how i really don't have the programs to proceed to go forth and do the homework that is handed to me.

Now although someone will look at this and go " well if you get blog, i'm sure you can do something more useful" go " what the hell mate, cant do work but can blog O.o"
and this is the part where i say that i do do the work, just in the first 10 minutes of class haha 
i tell you what, doing that is a good but bad thing to do for a assessment that needs to be handed in that same hour.

i personally like that if i can pull off a good standard of work in a 10 minute block then that should be something that goes in a resume, prob go something like this

The odd blog of them all, a less TAFE based blog

Now although i spend time here at TAFE, i do have a life sometimes O.o
sure i don't mind doing work that overall is going to help in the long run, but what i don't get is blogs, now sure, it's nice to write a one way conversation to the general population that read this ( If someone does ) but surely there are better ways of communication? Surely a rally of people would do if you wanted to make a point.

But i guess writing to the general population is the best i can do at this current point in time, but i tell you what, for the need to just write a page about not alot and still pull it over with some sorta interest with the content in it, i guess that's what a blog is.

Now i'm just gonna sit here and talk about a definition i'm just gonna start ranting about things i think don't make a Full amount of sense, eg: making a blog

well i guess someone has got to let it out about something that bugs them.

Week 5,

I think i start the blog all the same every week, so to mix it up lets not to the same thing.

Before i start talking about the week, i wish to inform Why my name is lancer, it's a gaming name i use and plus on the Internet i tend to not like using my actual name, don't know why but i just personal choice

Anyway....
Somehow my work is interesting and quite relaxing in a sense, and the people in the class are fun to talk to, even when we make jokes about me being a guy and having those sorta jokes

So today's class we did a time management exercise which was to see where a whole 168 hours in a week goes, oddly i found this interesting as i really think i spend more time playing Minecraft ( a computer game ) then doing something useful like homework ( not that i like the idea of doing set work outside the allocated time slot ) but i guess if i do waste a few minutes in class to take a minute break does all add up in the long run O.o well that's my thought anyway.

Through i found were i use168 hours a week, it's pretty easy to look at it then sort out what gets when and how long i should spend of a set thing, which also means that i can spend time doing more useful things during the course of.... well the course O.o

Other classes involve MYOB and that's alright at the moment, had to restart units 6 - 8 i think it was,
it's not that fun so word of advice, when doing that work, Make sure it's 100% right or it's hard to fix it later in the track.

Err another class is the excel and i say, i Love how i can pull of the main parts of  the work in 10 minutes flat, may not look 100% flash but the information is there and that's the main thing, needed information first, looks last.

I think these wraps up yet another week at TAFE and the road is less travelled now.

The trip so far.............

It's week 4, date 29/2/2012 or leap day for 2012.

Once again, another week has almost passed and now the class has pretty much gotten to know each other,
this week I've pretty much been the only guy in the class so it's fun to use the "coz I'm a guy" jokes ha ha

The work lately has been pretty interesting and it's starting to become a bit harder each week but I'm also learning new tricks and skills on some tasks on hand, keyboard typing is a bit faster now but i still make a few mistakes when typing but getting better at not so can't really complain.

Well as part of a task i had to do today, we as a class got to watch a dvd about the danger's of social networking, and what can happen if someone people get the wrong idea when you share someone with everyone, also when sending email humour you have to take into account how well you know the person and even if they get your humour but even then you should remain as professional as you can and do something in your own time and not at work.

I'm starting to get a hang of when work is due but I'm really just doing it "last minute" lack of a better saying to explain it. which in a way isn't a good thing but it also is, means that i get the work done, but really don't have much time to double check what i said. so i have to get things mostly right the first time, maybe i should update my home computer so i can start working on stuff there.

The road less traveled....


I'll tell you guys what, kicking back in class, writing a blog post and do work ain't a bad way to learn new things, it's been 2 and half weeks in TAFE and already i have some master advice if anyone wants it, If you ever do MYOB work, Make sure that everything is correct and in the right place, becuase i'll tell you what it's a pain to go back 2-3 hours of work to find that you did a typo eg $2365 when it's meant to be $236, it just messes all things up.

TAFE sometimes can be fun and other times you wonder why you are there in the class room, but i got to say that if you do pay attention and do the work, you can get pretty far in a short amount of time and some of the things here i have learn in the time here is good.


The people in my class are cool and i actually know one of the mothers there and they son, which she is fun to talk to.

If you are gonna go to TAFE, get to know the people in your class, and most of all, have fun with anything you do, it makes a difference if your having fun.

The Trip so far…..

It’s week 2 here and already today I’ve made this blog, started to know some of the people here and my skills in typing have slowly improved abit.

Although some of the work I don’t quite understand how it could be useful in some problems in the workplace, but then again it’s sometimes helpful to know something and not use it then be stuck and don’t know what to do.

Well I do enjoy the classes and some of the things I do at TAFE and It would suck for this to end, But at $650 per course here, yer it’s abit hard to argue the point above J

Week 3 February 2012

The trip so far.....

Yet another week has almost passed and I’m starting to really get into the work at hand.
in my time in business so far I’m learned that with emails there's more to them then i thought, there's a thing called "Email Etiquette" which is pretty much rules or advisory tips to help write better emails not only to your friends, but also businesses also.

Doing MYOB work is also interesting, and I’ve learned that if you make a mistake early on in the reports. it can mess up a whole lot of work in the future, so the main point being is to double check everything you do and if you don't know what is going on, Just stop and figure it out.

Working in the customer service class is alright but i find that i kind of have a problem with the educational videos, not the information that it's giving but the acting on them is a bit odd, in one of the videos it was saying that when a customer is angry or annoyed etc., should walk up to them and state your name and position and that you are going to help them, sorry but if i was annoyed i wouldn't like someone walking up to me and telling me a lot of useless information. Sorry.

Now although the work maybe a bit easy sometimes or that some of the acting is slightly annoying to watch, it this starting to be a test of skill and understanding and that comes into play when learning something new, bettering a skill, or just having a better understanding in customer service, it’s a pretty good class to be in and the people in this class also are nice to talk to and get along with.

But i do like the idea that writing a blog is part of a class and it's pretty laid back, but in saying that, doing one a week isn’t that bad of a way to reflect on the week and see what i have to improve on.

How I have found TAFE so far….


When I first started, At first I didn’t know anyone in the class and was pretty quiet to the rest of the class, I was a little nervous at first with not knowing anyone in the class, during my first break here at TAFE I met up with some friends and it was nice to know that I have friends here at TAFE and I do get to see them on a day to day basics, the food here is pretty good and there’s a good range of things to pick from.

About a week here I’v started to open up to the class and starting to get to know the people here and I have also been enjoying the classes that I have and the company of the people in them, although it’s only been week or so it's been "so far so good"

The lectures here are nice and willing to help out regardless of what you know or don’t know, and the classes are helping me and my skills to improve and adopt new knowledge EG: getting better at touch typing or learning how to use MYOB.

I have questioned a couple things about what I was doing and how I was doing things on MYOB but after reading in the book and asking the lecture if it was correct I have found that something’s are not as hard as it looks.

Although I’v done some of the work before from other business classes or at work there are still things I don’t know or learning how to have better customer service etc.

Being at TAFE, I have motivated myself to do the work at hand and also use my time wisely and manageable to fit in with my everyday life, I have enjoyed my time here at TAFE so far and I hope to pass this course, learn new skills, better my current skills and also make some new friends at TAFE.
